'69 Comeback Special 

50th anniversary of the comeback special movie

Celebrating it was 50 years ago, that Elvis made a comeback in 1968 and Rocking Rebels went together to see the movie
This TV special, better known today as the '68 Comeback Special, aired on Dec. 3, 1968. The program was a rapturous return for the 33-year-old Elvis Presley, whose music had mostly stuck to soundtrack songs from his often pulpy, saccharine films.

The two-hour program was hosted by Blake Shelton and payed a tribute to Elvis Presley’s “’68 Comeback Special,” recreating the iconic night with musical performances, a showcase of rare footage and interviews with Priscilla Presley and Steve Binder, the director of the original special, plus a special appearance from Lisa Marie Presley.
